This patient, classified as Norwood Type 6, underwent a significant hair transformation with Dr. Cole, who successfully implanted over 4800 total grafts using the Advanced FUE technique, including body hair grafts from the chest, back, and scalp. Due to the patient’s very thin donor area and large scars from a prior strip procedure, extracting grafts was challenging.

As a Fortune 500 executive, the patient couldn’t have a large area of his scalp shaved, limiting scalp donor grafts to 1000. The remaining grafts were harvested using the follicular isolation technique from his abundant body hair. The CIT grafts were placed over an 8-day period. Despite the difficulties, the patient is healing quickly, with initial CIT extraction areas nearly healed after 8 days. This procedure highlights the potential for body hair transplants as an additional hair source for bald or thinning scalps.
