This patient presented with a depleted scalp donor area. He had a strip procedure in the past that was successful, but he did not have enough donor coverage to do a second strip procedure without coming out of the operation with a visible scar. He elected to do an FUE procedure. He scheduled with a plastic surgeon who owned an ARTAS robot. The physician flew a team of technicians in to perform the procedure. Unfortunately, almost none of the grafts grew, and his scalp donor was utterly destroyed.
Out of options, he came to Dr. Cole for a miracle. The next best source was beard hair. The patient had 1,518 beard grafts placed along the frontal third and 1,777 grafts placed in the crown. The total graft count was 3,241 grafts. In conjunction with the transplant, SMP was performed on the strip scar. CRP was injected into the recipient area and the scalp donor area. PRF and ACell were combined and applied to the beard donor area
