The patient had a previous procedure with a different clinic in Alpharetta, Ga consisting of 2,500 grafts. He was not very happy with the result due to a lack of density and poor graft yield. Upon evaluation of the prior transplant, there was severe damage to the donor area from the ARTAS robot. Many of the grafts in the occipital region were single hair follicular units, indicating a high transection rate by the robot.
The game plan for his operation with Dr. Cole was to keep the design but increase density. Dr. Cole relocated 1,012 grafts to the frontal hairline. In conjunction with the transplant, the patient underwent CRP with Acell. There was a significant improvement in the density of the crown and mid-scalp from the regenerative protocol.
