By Dr. Cole, FUE Hair Transplant Pioneer

This is a Norwood class 6 that had a residual frontal tuft. Given the degree of his hair loss, Dr. Cole advised focusing on the front and mid-scalp. The patient is also taller (over 6 foot.) Given his height, it is difficult for others to see the hair loss in his crown. Instead of grafting the crown a topical finasteride was prescribed.

During the operation, 2,885 grafts were placed along the hairline and mid-scalp. In conjunction with the grafts the patient underwent CRP, Acell, and PRF. The response from the donor regeneration protocol was significant. There appears to be enough donor to fill in the crown. Traditionally, it is not possible for patients who progress beyond a Norwood 6 to achieve a full head of hair.

It has been 1 year since his operation. The grafts grew in really well and the results are aesthetically pleasing both wet and dry. The crown did see an improvement from the topical therapy. There is less of a dip in the crown, and the quality of the hair has improved.
