Dr. Cole placed 219 CIT grafts into this patients strip scar in 2004. The patient found the width and the coloration of the strip scar troubling and discovered a solution in Dr. Cole's technique. 2 years post-op, the coverage is excellent, and the linear incision is barely discernible to the eye even upon close inspection.
Additionally, the strip scar seems to have undergone a re-modeling process, whereby the angry pink tissue has assumed a more innocuous tone. Perhaps, the process would have taken place over time, and the CIT session merely accelerated it. On the other hand, the CIT grafts may have ignited a process that would have never otherwise happened. In either case, we are happy to observe that not only has the CIT surgery camouflaged the incision; it has also improved the pigmentation and the character of the scar itself.
