FIT/4 months results/Dr. Cole/Haircycle

Postby forhair » Mon Feb 13, 2006 7:00 pm

This patient was an advanced Norwood Class 3V when he underwent hair restoration surgery with Dr. Cole and the team back in October of 2005. 2368 FIT grafts were packed into the frontal third during the procedure.

We were able to catch up with him recently to examine his results. As you can see from his photos, the initial growth is astounding for less than four months of development. The patient was religious with his post operative application of the Hair Cycle Biotin Spray, using 3 bottles. This may account for the swiftness of the results thus far. His face is well framed and his general appearance, sleeker. While the best growth has yet to come, the patient has already expressed that he is no longer concerned about his hair loss.

He is 32 years old. He came to us for a consult as a Norwood 3V. His donor density is 210 and his FU's are 90. Both are above average.
He arrived at the clinic on 10/10/05 for a scheduled 1500g shaven FIT to be done over 3 days. The first day he received 773g into the frontal third area. On day 2 he received 768g into the frontal third and on the third day he received 827g into the frontal third and the hairline area. He purchased the HairCycle Kit and used it religiously. He actually used 3 bottles of Biotin Spray.

Very nice...substantial difference. It still baffles me how grafts added=noticable years taken off age.

Hair Transplant case of the Year

Postby CITness » Thu Mar 02, 2006 10:30 am

I think that this case is a rarity in terms of desireable results. The time frame of growth is just icing on the cake.

If this guy is the exception, what is the rule? I am real close to taking the next step and just want to know what I should expect. I see all of these wonderfull success stories on line and want to make sure these results are typical. I mean who would want to go through this if their is only about a 50 or 60% chance you will have the same type of results seen on the IHTI web site.

Thanks

Results vary. There is NO question. If you have thin donor hair and small hair groupings you will tend to have a thin result. If you thick hair and big groups you will usually hit a homerun.

Talk to the doctors or your patient coordinator about your hair quality and they will set your expectations in advance. I feel we are all quite forthcoming about what to expect.

Also feel free to post your photos on this board. Have you had surgery in the past, curious?
