0.5 mm punch

recently a new 0.5 mm punch has been getting some press for FUE. We are formally here to tell you that such an instrument can cause serious damage to your hair. the 0.5 mm punch is only 0.1 mm wider than the connective tissue sheath that surrounds a single hair follicle. two hair follicles side by side in a follicular unit average 0.82 mm in width. hence, this 0.5 mm punch has only 0.05 mm of breathing room on either side of the average scalp hair. many body hairs are even more coarse or wider. Therefore, there is no margin of error. simply taking a breath during the extraction process could be all it takes to destroy that graft while leaving a incision on you skin. we do not recomend the use of this punch.
