BHT-1400 Chest Hairs

This is a patient with a limited donor supply from the UK, who we recently treated. The photo depicted shows approximately 900 grafts removed from the patient’s right side of the chest on the first day. The photo was taken the next day. On the second day, about 500 additional grafts were taken from the patient’s left side. All the grafts were placed in his thinning. Crown. He still has many additional hairs available to transplant. Approximately 1 per 100 grafts were damaged during the extraction phase or about 1%. This low damage rate reveals one of the most important reasons to have your grafts extracted by those with the most experience or the proper in depth and through training in this method of graft harvesting.

Of course it is possible that the damage rate could be higher on other patients, but in our experience the rate is quite low. Even in cases of slight injury to the hair, we are still able to salvage the graft.

It is very interesting to see how many grafts were obtained from such a small amount of chest hair. We consider this chest hair density low but widely populated with hair. We see a vast range of chest hair densities: low densities with a low population to high density and widely populated.

We still believe that chest hair transplants and body hair transplants are in the early stages. We do not recommend them for everyone. Unless you have a limited donor supply, it is probably best to use your scalp hair first to graft you balding scalp areas.

one might try treating areas of newly imlanted body hairs with rogaine to stimulate anagen. about 50% of body hairs are in telogen at the time of harvesting. minoxidil or rogaine (regain in europe) might improve the initial yeild in the treatment of hair loss with hair transplant or hair restoration surgery using body hair as the source.
