Techs in Hair Restoration-The benefits

Postby forhair » Thu May 06, 2004 10:22 am

Hi Luck
I respect Dr Woods and I think most of the time he is doing a good hair transplants, but on this issue I disagree.
Dr Cole is doing the most important and complicated things like consulting with the patient, the decision how many grafts will be taken and from where, Designing the hairline, preparing the receipt area, making the sites to place the grafts and extracting the grafts (with FIT) from the donor area to the point were the techs have to simply pull them out.
The techs are used to prepare the surgery rooms, clean it, prepare the patient with anaesthesia, and placing the grafts inside the holes that Dr cole created. Another Doctor will help pulling the grafts that Dr Cole already extracted to the point that it can be released very easily.
Dr Cole is a perfectionist, demanding, and passionate surgeon and he gives a perfect example and influence to his techs and to the way Hair transplant surgery should be done.

A tech that will not match his high standards...can not work in his clinic.
So, the techs are a big bonus in the hands of the right hair restoration surgeon, they are helping to lower the price of the HT and the doctor can concentrated on the important parts of the procedure.
With all that been saying I think that Dr Woods is making a small sessions without techs as a marketing gimmick...which is ok and it doesn't means he is not doing a good job, many other good doctors like Dr Cole,H&W,Wolf...are doing a world top quality hair transplants with techs.

If I am not mistaken the angulations and other factors that contribute to the aesthetics of the HT are in the hands of the slit maker, Dr. Cole. Is this correct?
Absolutely!! ,Dr Cole is making the sites, the angulations ,directions and the decision if to use lateral slit or vertical or both in some cases.
the tech need to know and understand this angles but to place the graft is easy specially when you have experience.
I guaranty that a tech that was working under Dr Cole most likely will be superior in hair transplant surgery, we have an excellent team that working very hard to achieve the best hair transplants. they are educated and they can do their job even faster and better then many other doctors.
Don't forget Dr Patrick who has been trained by Dr Cole and my feeling is he will be a top doctor that come out from our group.
A photo of all the team and staff will be published on our website next week.
