propecia

A general discussion about hair restoration.

Hi josh0130,
I think and somebody correct me if i'm wrong...that propecia can be taken only with a doctor prescription. Propecia is not over the shelf product, If you have hair loss then it's better for you to talk with a doctor anyway and then he will tell you if propecia can or can't help you.

Rogaine 1% strength is avialable on the shelf at most stores however for 2% you would need a Prescription. Propecia is usually the cheapest from Candian Drug stores or Warehouses such as Costco. I hope this answers your question but if not feel free to ask more...

Can i expect any growth back or just maintain what i have? Im still nervous about taking this because of the post i read about the guys hair fell out faster when he started taking it.
Propecia works best in the crown area. 80% maintain, 10% will grow more hair and 10% will see no results from Propecia. Sometimes when you start taking Propecia there will be an initial shed but this is hair that it is on its way out.

About the rogaine again, how do you know whether or not to take 1% or 2% strength?
Start with 1% and if that works for you then you are good. You only need 2% if 1% is not working for you.

Can i get a prescription for propecia if i do an online consultation?

Yes, you can get a Rx after you do a consultation with IHTI if Dr. Cole recommends medication therapy.

Yes, we can call in a Rx for Propecia however we do have an annual processing fee for this. It is $85 a year and you have to read and sign the Propecia consent form.
