hair loss and attractvie forces

Postby drcole » Mon Aug 09, 2004 10:04 pm

i rarely see a patient drug in by his wife or girlfriend. it does occur, but not often. i really hate to see that. i've even seen mothers drag their sons in becasue their son's hair loss is making mom look too old. these are unpleasant evaluations.

typcially what i see is that the spouse or girlfreind is very supportive. they generally say, "i love him the way he is now". etc.

beauty is definately in the eye of the beholder though. the best way to treat hair loss would be to change the way one perceives his or her hair loss. if i could simply make them no longer care about it, it would save everyone a great deal of time, money, and effort. unfortunately, it takes medications, surgery, or a great deal of time to acheive this result.

If your hair loss bothers you, it simply bothers you. I know plenty of guys who will not go anywhere without a hat. This is why we do what we do in our office. we try to help people move on with their lives. sometimes it is a long hard struggle. today we had a patient tell us that he had lived miserably for 10 years after plugs were put all over his head. it took me one year and two long surgical procedures to get all the plugs debulked. his comment at the end of the day, was i can't belive how much better i look. now i am ready to move on with my life. we do our best to make lives better. that is why we do what we do for a living. getting people to put their hair loss behind them, to make them re-define their priorities, to start living and stop struggling with their hair loss is our mission. it can be a long, slow, arduous process, however. there are few overnight sucess stories. the good news is that we can acheive sucess.
