this is a patient who had a "lift" procedure. this is an agressive form of scalp reduction that leaves extensive scars all over the scalp. the hair from the back and sides is lifted up onto the top of the scalp. the hair on the neck is also lifted. you can see that the hair line in the neck region has been lifted up in the after photograph of the donor area. this lift is from this agressive scalp reduction.

he was left a class 3A from this procedure. you can see that some pluggy looking mini-grafts were placed in the frontal region from a prior hair restoration procedure. this still left him with excessive hair loss in the frontal area.

the donor area was very tight, thus a strip was out of the question even though he had multiple scars in his donor area already. the hair loss solution for him was follicular isolation technique (FIT) or follicular unit extraction (FU
E). he has received a total of 640 grafts to date. this resulted in a significant improvement in coverage and a softening of his hair line. His hair calibre is coarse. his hair is wavy. he desired more density and therefore another 500 grafts were performed after these photographs were taken.
