Not only does it look painful, but unsightly as well...

OK, I am 4 weeks out and have lost very few grafts. I have been washing pretty aggressively, but they seem real firm. When should I become concerned?

Shedding

Hi Bmore,

Which methods are you performing to scrub your scalp? I would vigorously scrub your scalp with your finger tips when you shampoo. Also, observe these grafts to see if they are growing or are very short hair fragments.

The grafts that remain are in the crown area and do not appear to be growing or falling out. I scrub the area pretty good during shampooing and maybe get 3-4 grafts each time...A little concerned because this same thing happened after my last HT. Many of the grafts in the crown did not shed or grow out.

hair transplant cysts.

Well, i would be happy to remove them for you with some hair tweezers. it is easy to do. if you can not make it to see me in when i am traveling out of town or in my office, you could try to remove the non-growing hair fragments yourself with a set of tweezers. again, non-growing hairs from grafts are quite common and more common in those with oily skin. they will come out as easily as a needle comes out of warm butter.

the other way to get rid of them is to pop the red bumps as the rise. this is your bodies own defense mechanism.
