I feel like I'm lettimg myself in for some punishment by offering an answer to a question set by you Socrates, but I think you will find the side effects, if any of propecia will wear off in time.

I haven't heard of provillus? I hope it hasn't been recommended to you by the chap who got you the hemlock!

I'm guessing the chap who drinks 8 cups a day probably knows more about green tea than I do, so I wonder does he recommend any brands? I've heard that different types of green teas contain varying amounts of polyphenols, which in turn makes a big difference in their impact on the human body. Is decaffeinated green tea just as good?

To explain my skepticism I once started eating Hershey's dark chocolate because I heard that dark chocolate has lots of antioxidants. The label on the bar even said something like "naturally high in antioxidants". Later I found out that Hershey's makes their chocolate with alkali processing, which destroys nearly all the AO's. Taught me that commercial food producers will do whatever it takes to deceive you into buying their product and you can't take anything for granted, even what is written on the label.

Hi teko & wassup,

Wise words there about Chocolate... Green & Blacks 70% for ever! Anyhow I dont pretend to have any guru type advice on green tea, I actually buy the cheapest brand available in the UK (From Aldi supermakets!) at about 3p a bag. The way I see it is this, green tea is the same plant as black tea, but has undergone one less stage of processing, as such, but for economys of scale it really should be cheaper than black tea. It is in a manufacturers interest to minimise processing here and give
you a simple dried product... my ingredients list simply says green tea... I dont' know if they have 'hershy'ed it!

I don't think there is anything wrong with taking a green tea pills food supplement but I would cost it out myself, I mean this is a very small player in the hairloss battle. And if they are costing you 10p a pill etc I would say just drink the tea, its not that disgusting!

Also you can buy green tea loose at some markets (I also get dried nettle
too) which is cheaper still.

Keep me posted on your tea tips

tea tip white tea?

Postby nobel victim » Wed Jul 26, 2006 4:02 pm

Hey Tekito,

I just thorght, if you were the ultimate in tea purity, you can get a product called white tea, which is even less refined than green tea, it tastes a lot like slighly fragrent water! I was assured by the man in the tea shop in North Point mall (not 20mins from ITHI office in Atlanta) while I drank my free sample, that white tea had a great many more antixoidants and vitamins than green tea. Presumilby, if the polyphenolic compounds that Bradley refered to earlyer in this thred are to be found in tea as it grows naturaly, then perhaps whie tea is the way forward? Might put up my shopping bill a bit...

Okay, thanks for the tip. Makes sense to me, though of course I'll try to do a little internet research first.

What i've found from looking online is that white tea does potentially have a great many health benefits, less caffeine than green, but is usually more expensive. So it looks good to me, but I'll have to put off further research for another time. I am obsessed with so many things on so many topics that there is quite a backlog!

lol, i think that forum would only frighten most people. Obsessions, combined with an internet connection, can really drive a person into the crazy zone.
