This case doesn't show the final results. What you see in the photos is a 2.5 month photos showing good growth. Results are final after 1 year. on some patient we see growth even in 1.5-1.8 year post up...

Leone,

An average donor area is about 180cm2. And average donor density is about 80 fu per cm2. This means 14,000+ units are within the average donor area. The number of movable grafts varies patient to patient. 6,000 - 8,000 units might be a good estimation.

FIT expands the donor area as nape hair can be utilized. This may push the number up a little bit.

Keep in mind that some patients have more hairs per fu. A 3 hair fu provides move coverage than a 2 hair fu.

Does this answer your question?

Leone,

You are welcome to post pictures for an opinion. If you are experiencing difficulty doing this, I will let Forhair chime in. He is the (web)master. :)

It might be helpful also if you can provide more information about your hairloss situation. What is your age? How long have you been losing hair? Are you taking medication to halt your loss? And anything else you feel is relevant to your case.

It is probably good to post pics from several angles...the hairline, the top of the scalp, the sides, and the back.

the donor area in hair loss

Postby drcole » Mon Oct 25, 2004 11:15 pm

i think the average donor area may be as much as 250 sq. cm for FIT or FUE. one must expect up to 250 sq. cm of hair loss in the class 6 or greater. this makes the entire hair bearing scalp about 500 sq cm.
