Can you explain the #1, #2 cuts? Are these special razors for buzz cuts? Completely in the dark on this.

Sometimes when you go to the salon a #1 simply means 1 inch, a #2 means two inches of hair.

The bottom line is:
When you cut your hair, a #1 means to cut the hair to one inch length.
WHen you shave your hair a #1 means 1mm length.

I have asked my barber this same question a long time ago. i hope this helps

#1 buzz-cut is NOT 1mm

Postby Skywalker » Mon Mar 20, 2006 7:54 am

Forhair,
a #1 buzz-cut is NOT 1mm - I think it is about 3mm - I cut to 1mm and I do that by using no guard.

hahahaha, for 4$ and 1$ tip in USA, i think the barber was worth it:

#2 blended used to be my hairstyle at that barber, and she cut it two inches on top, and 2mm on the sides blended in.

It is one of my dreams to grow out my hair again and be able to cut it to #2 blended, but that dream will have to wait until i can grow some hair on my temples so that it can be cut :)

Well the patient in the original photos posted on this thread from 2005 are actually me. Below is another link to the donor scar repair by Dr. Cole:

The photographs posted in 2005 clearly show a marked improvement in the donor scar from the one procedure done in 2004. Imagine what it will look like after another pass................

The problem? Well below are pictures that I took in 2007 of the same donor scar two years after a SECOND SESSION of FIT with Dr. Cole in 2005.

In a nutshell the procedure didn't work and actually made the scar hypertrophic and worse off than when I started, as can be seen in the pictures below.

I apologize for any patients I unwittingly convinced to undergo donor scar repair based on my pictures.

I have since got all my hair removed via laser hair removal , including the FIT in scar.
When all is said and done I basically wasted $25,000 with Dr. Cole. Learn from my mistake.

I would appreciate it if Dr. Cole's staff would contact me so we can discuss taking these and any other of my photos down in that they are not a fair representation of what my scar looks like from the procedures as is evident by the pictures I posted.

So who did your strip? Are you telling us that the grafting was more successful than the laser? Also can you post clear follow-up photos? i would really like to see exactly how the donor looks up close.

Hello gamecock,

Dr. Zipfel in Cleveland, Ohio did my initial three strip procedures between 1999-2000.
If you want to read my whole story and see many before and after pictures of my progress just go to hairsite then click on the "hair transplant repair" forum. Then look under the post entitled:

My story and results using Fraxel/ V-beam/ LHR (many pictures included).

I can't post the exact website because I need to have acquired 10 posts before I can post a website on this forum.

I am also getting V-beam and fraxel on the donor scar which has helped enormously. You will see all the information at hairsite.

Hope this helps, let me know if you have any other questions,

workinprogress.
