FIT growth on a scar!

Postby forhair » Thu Jan 13, 2005 6:36 pm

This patient had a procedure 8 month ago. He had 300 FIT grafted on his scar.
The work results are fantastic. Noticed the pinkish color in the before pictures, it has been dramatecly reduced in the after photos. We have noticed reduction in color with some patients that had FIT grafted into a scar, and it is definitely helping along with the growth to the overall appearance of the donor. The growth is excellent and the patient is very happy with the results. We expect even more growth at 12-15 month's post op.

14 months update

Postby forhair » Wed Aug 10, 2005 6:16 pm

This is an 14 months photos update of this scar grafting.
As you can see, the pinkness is gone and now his scars have the same tinge as his skin color which makes the results more exciting.
This patient had his last strip procedure 1 year before he came to Dr. Cole for the scar grafting
This pink color on strip scars can often last for years!
The pink color that can be seen in the before photos has been reduced in the 8 months post up photos and dramatecly reduced in the 14 months post FIT scar grafting photos.

strip scars from hair transplant surgery

Postby drcole » Sun Oct 01, 2006 8:27 pm

I do not recall off the top of my head.

there are some general rules. Loose scalps have the greatest risk of a wider scar, but can produce very fine scars.

the more procedures you have done increase the risk for a wider scar.

the more procedures you have done that take out the same scar increase the risk of distorting the hair growth angles in the donor area.

this scar is red. Some strip scars will stay red for ever.

Grafting into this scar no only helped add hair, it also helped to reduce the redness. that is very positive.
