Norwood Scale 2 for hair loss

You lost your scanner and your hair. It simply is not fair.

The photos are a Norwood 2. i would not go so far as to call you a norwood 3. you mentioned propecia 0.25 mg. have you increased to 1 mg yet. yes, propecia works in the front. you can sometimes get worse before you get better. if you are still receeding after 1 year, you might want to try avodart.

in the temple region you will not grow hair back with propecia, but you may slow the loss or stop it. this is the main reason to take it. you are in you twenties. at this age there is tremendous potential for more loss so stay on meds. also consider topical spironolactone, nizoral shampoo, rogaine, saw palmetto, etc.

about 200 grafts in each temple will reduce the recession and 400 should reverse it (total 400 to 800 grafts). you may need a second procedure to add fullness so the higher you stay with the hair line, the less work you will need later on because you are adding hair into a smaller surface area of loss. in your twenties, have FIT or FUE. do no do a strip in my opinion. you cover the loss well. your other alternative is to stay on meds and cover the loss area.

hair transplant consult

Propecia can regrow hair in a small number of patients. For most patients it is successful in slowing down hair loss. It is a great adjunct to hair transplants. I believe that merck advertises it to be a treatment for crown loss. It does work in the frontal area too though.
