Do the patients have better success with avodart?

Postby Ams04 » Fri Nov 12, 2004 8:26 pm

Hi, I know most anyone who has educated himself on mpb and has got ht is on one type of dht supressant. I'm also sure some of Dr Cole's patients have made the switch from prpecia to avodart. I was curious if the patients reported better results with avodart? I've been studying this drug and looking at people's testimonies for the last 6 months, and it still unconclusive as whether it's better than propecia. I ask this because I'm 26 and have only been thinning at the crown for the past 6 years. I've done everything to try to thicken it up, but nothing works (have been using propecia and minox for the past 2 years). my thin crown has made me very depressed, and i'd do anything to see it a little more thick again (even have my thick body hair transplanted) what scares me and stops from just going on the drug are the reports of accerlated hairloss and massive sheds. do any of dr cole's patients report this? anyway, any help would be appreciated.

Some patients are reporting on a better growth, especially on the top...were propecia is not as efficient as on the crown. My recommendation will be to start with propecia at list for one year, If the outcome is satisfying...continue . if not, switch to Avodart

Drugs or products that block DHT are efficient to stabilize hair loss progression. In few cases people reported regrowth(I think 2% of patients).Minoxidil produces same hairs with bigger shaft caliber;wich gives you more volume and an impression of regrowth.
I am like you concern of any extra benefit with avodart and it's unconclusive so far.But I had 3 patients who testified that switching from propecia to Avodart improve their conditions.Avodart is stronger than propecia .If propecia doesn't work for you, try the combination of Avodart and minoxidil. Also ,try to include in your diet some vitamins as biotin,Vit. E and vit C.
I will wait before to jump in hair transplant surgery.
Good luck.We are working with you.
