Question about Solar damage.

Postby forhaioo » Mon Sep 19, 2011 8:27 pm

Hi, as you know I got my CIT 11 months ago. And I've been consistent is protecting my scalp with a cap for 6 months post op...even at night. Well, lately....like 3 months ago, I've been working as a limo driver. So I pretty much have to be out in the road. Now they are giving me more day cuz it's getting busy, and I'm exposed to the sun a lot more. Even though the cars we drive have tints, the sun still creeps up on my through the driver side, especially when I'm driving the suburban.

I'm concerned about solar damage still cuz my transplanted hairs have not fully matured yet, a lot of it still looks really thin. I'm wondering if the sun might be keeping them from developing. So today I ran over to a sports store and picked up one of those under armor wave caps....just something I could strap on my head and easily fold into my pocket when I'm driving between jobs.

Is there anything else I could do to shield my scalp from the sun. Does the hair cycle shampoo provide some protect? I was gonna buy some now but it's out of stock. I saw the hair spray and it said that it has sun screen in it....but I don't want my hair to look wet all day because you can see my scalp more.

Any tips would help :) cheers

Sunlight could help us gain vitamin D but not the sunlight around 10 AM to 3 PM as it could be very damaging. Expose your hair to the sun sometimes not beyond 10 in the morning.
