I do not think this photograph was taken one day after surgery. The hair shaft elongation is far to great for that. Some of the hair shafts from the grafts are about to fall off. Almost all the scabs are gone and they never fall off in one day.
When the scabs come off, they often take hair shafts with them. Therefore, it is impossible from this photograph to tell how many grafts you had. It appears that there are somewhere between 1000 and 1500 grafts in the frontal 2/3 of your scalp.
The next time you have a procedure, consider ordering the
counting incision device for your physician. This device counts every incision site and it is accurate. Most physicians do not want to use a device such as this because they are not interested in accuracy. They also do not want to pay extra money to perform a procedure even though they are making thousands of dollars off the procedure. This is the only device available that allows for such accuracy and it is the only way you can be sure that your physician is not cheating you. I use them on every case because accuracy is highly important. In fact it is so important that i developed the device for use in my patients. I offer it to other physicians, but most are not willing to pay the little extra to insure accuracy for their patients. Therefore, it really is up to the patient to demand that their physician use this device so that they can be certain how many incision sites were made in their scalp. I'd ask you. Is your hair transplant procedure worth the extra 22.00 your physician would have to pay to be accurate?
Please note that these devices are disposable. There is no way to sterilize them properly after use. Therefore, make sure that your physician is using a new device with each procedure and not one that he simply wiped off the day before and used again on your scalp. Unfortunately, patients have to look after themselves because physicians are often too cheap to do it for the patient. There are currently physicians who have bought this device and they have told me that they are using them on multiple patients. You need to insist on a new one each case. I use a brand new one on every patient.
