1640 FUE/CIT Dr. Cole 10 Days Post OP Questions and Thanks

Postby DCJ » Sat Apr 05, 2008 3:04 pm

First off I am 10 days Post OP with a FUE/CIT Session with Dr. Cole and Team(Kim, Nelson, Ken, and EVERYONE that worked on me). I want to THANK everyone there at the clinic for the hard work. My session went longer than expected so we all had to stay late that night. I also want to say that I have never watched 6 movies in a row  Definitely a first for me  I enjoyed being able to talk about the Braves most of the day too with Dr. Cole. Everyone there made me feel so comfortable and it was first class all the way!!

Dr. Cole I want to come back and I hope you can catch a Braves game with me.

Seems like everything is going according to schedule. I have a couple of Post OP questions to ease my mind and to make sure I am still on track.

#1- I am 10 days Post OP and started gently rubbing my scalp in the shower at around 8 days. Most of the scabs have started to fall off. Wanted to make sure I am correct in how I am washing at this point. At 8 days Post Op, would or could the shower hitting my grafts cause any harm?

#2- I have shed very little and know I still have a ways to go before I shed all that I expect to. What I wanted to know is will the transplanted hairs actually grow. It seems they have not gown any and I wanted to see if this is normal or will they grow at all or just fall out. I just want to make sure that since they have not grown like my other hair, does this mean that the grafts may not have taken or again is this normal. What should I expect?

#3- Of my 1640 grafts, what percentage should I expect to keep?

#4- Is there any risk if I start lifting weights and running again? I was not sure if lifting anything heavy and sweating would impair the grafts in any way.

Again MANY THANKS to Dr. Cole and Team for the Professionalism and down to earth atmosphere.

Thanks,

Don

Hi,

The shower streams won't damage your grafts at this point. It would be better to wait about 14 days before you start lifting heavy weights and running should not cause any problems for you as of now.

Grafts may not all fall out after the procedure but about 95% of all patients will experience shedding of the transplanted grafts. There are no true gurantees of results but patients who take good care of their grafts could expect to keep anywhere from 70% to 90% of their grafts.
