The natural way?

Postby Mike0715 » Tue Mar 04, 2008 12:36 am

Hi, new here. But not new to my receding hair line that seems to have gone shiny overnight.

It wasn't bothering me at first, but I'm too young for this. So I thought I'd do a little research...

I was considering starting with a more natural approach. I've heard about products and advice (vitamin supplements, etc), that might be a good first step. But is it something to give a fair shake to? Is it worth pursuing?

A friend recommended this: easyhairgrowth dot com
(sorry, edited it because I wrote in this site, instead of what the recommendation was.)

What do you think?

Start battling your hair loss the natural way

Postby CITness » Tue Mar 04, 2008 1:34 am

Hi Mike0715,

You can go with saw palmetto and vitamins to start battling your hair loss. It would be a financial commitment to do medications or surgery so I would make the decision to pursue medications if age is a great factor. A medication would statistically help you sustain further hair loss but a hair transplant procedure would be the permanent solution to treat your hair loss.

The first step to have a free consultation is to send a couple of clear photos: http://www.forhair.com/contact_page.htm
We can then have in-depth discussion of hair loss remedies and Dr. Cole's effective treatment plan for you.

Regards,

Thanks for the info. I wasn't expecting a consultation. I'm fairly young...mid thirties. So I was hoping I could wait for transplants if possible.

I was reading the articles at the site I mentioned (easyhairgrowth...no I'm not a salesman, just researching) had this to say:

Some of the best vitamins for hair growth include biotin, choline, niacin, and iron. These vitamins may be found in individual supplements or combined in a multi-vitamin. Some women find prenatal supplements to be an excellent source of vitamins and minerals, regardless of whether or not they are pregnant.

Amino acids play an incredibly important role in the health of your hair. The strands of hair themselves are comprised of dead protein. Amino acids found in proteins contribute to the health of the hair follicle. Including amino acids in your hair growth vitamin routine will ensure your hair follicles have the nutrients they need to produce and grow healthy strands of hair.

Do you agree with this? Am I getting good advice?

Find your regimen!

Postby CITness » Tue Mar 04, 2008 2:26 pm

Hi Mike,

The best way to battle hair loss is to find a higly effective regimen that blocks DHT and promotes the anagen phase of your hair. Try using the "Hair Cycle" shampoo and conditioner, it's all natural and aids in maintaining the hair that you currently have. If you get good results with hair cycle, saw palmetto and vitamins then consider yourself "lucky". You may want to consider every possible DHT blocking supplement or medication after you become aware of all the possible side effects.

A consultation doesn't necessarily mean that you will be considered an ideal candidate for surgery or that you must do surgery to remedy your hair loss. It is merely our protocol to properly treat each patient whether they desire a procedure or not. Dr. Cole advises each patient to make the effort and use all available resources to yeild the best result for them. Please don't hesitate to ask any further questions.

CITness

Cleanhead,

I am in my mid-thirties as well (33 to be exact). I had 1,100 or so grafts with Dr. Cole a little over 2 months ago. However, I had been taking Propecia religiously since I was around 27 yrs. old. I have also taken Rogaine off and on during that period. I have no problem using the medication in lieu of a natural remedy. That's a personal decision. I can tell you though that the hair transplant that I had was absolutely amazing. I had absolutely no signs of anything 10 days after the procedure and I am already seeing a good amount of growth, which is faster than normal based on what I've heard and read on this forum. Dr. Cole is a true professional and the foremost expert on hair loss. Have the consultation and see what he recommends. He would never recommend anything to you that he didn't believe in. He's not a salesman and if he didn't think you needed any work done, he would tell you that. I asked for 2,000 grafts and he told me that was too much. He compared a hair transplant to fixing dull tread on your car tires. You don't replace the tire unless you really need to.

I have also been using Rogaine foam and the Hair Cycle shampoo since December when I had my procedure. The Rogaine foam is 1,000 times more user friendly than the old solution. If having hair for the rest of your life is a priority than go for the Propecia, Rogaine foam, and Hair Cycle shampoo. I also use Nizoral shampoo twice a week to help with drying skin from the Rogaine. It's a commitment and it does cost some money, but for me it's worth it.

I guess my point is that there are proven methods for slowing down hair loss. Don't try to get too creative and don't believe most of the other hype around other products. Stick with the standards. And if you are considering having some work done with Dr. Cole...bro...I can't tell you from experience...it was a breeze. My friends and family are absolutely shocked that I've had anything done. They remember seeing people with the old style transplants and were probably expecting the worst. Mine is 100% undetectable. I'd be happy to answer any questions that you have if you think it is something you'd like to explore.

Good luck,
