From previous threads with pre-op, post-op, 7-day and 6-month photos, I wanted to update readers with my 14-month photos. In July 2006, I met with Dr. Cole and staff for a 5-day procedure. I had 2,750 FIT put in the front 2/3 and 1020 BHT put in the crown.

When I had the procedure done, my head was shaved. I think this is the best way to go for most new procedures. After the procedure, people see your head shaved and as you let your new hair grow in, nobody notices anything out of the normal. The people I didn't see for six months or more, always noticed something was different about my appearance. Since the procedure, I haven't had any bald jokes. That is a nice after affect. Before the procedure, people would usually guess my age about 10-years older than what I was. Now people guess about 8 years younger. You can't help but feel better inside with positive comments. For those of you on the fence, trying to decide about having the procedure, don't wait any longer, make the appointment. I plan to make an appointment to fill in the crown area a little for Feb 2008.

absolutely beautiful results, much improvment indeed.
the front looks very dense compered to the before photos...good hairline.
can you post more photos with better quality? are you planing another session for more density on the back and the crown?

Thanks for the update. You are looking very good. I think you have made significant progress. I'm also pleased to hear that the bald jokes and comments have ceased. People can be very insensitive to hair loss and simply don't recognize how much their attempts at humor hurt many people. No one likes to hear comments about age related changes in their appearance. I've never quite understood how some people think that bald comments or jokes are an exception.

We look forward to seeing you in February. In the meantime, keep on growing more hair. I think the style looks exceptional on you. You now have two hair lines. One is in the front and the other is at the apex of your crown. The one in the crown looks quite natural and is more visible than the one in the front. It is very important to build a natural hair line on both sides. This is a mistake I often see in patients who had work done at other clinics. I hope more physicians begin to recognize that the hair line in the crown area is just as important as the one in the frontal area.

Thank you for keeping us up dated with your results. We are very happy with the results achieved until now and you still have Body Hair growing in your crown. BHT does grow slower than scalp hair... It takes longer to get 100% growth (up to 2 years or more).

I took the photos just after taking a shower so my hair looked a little thinner. I will try to take some better photos. I just can't seem to get a detailed picture.

It is not easy to take your own photo and to get a clear image. You'd be surprised how much trouble we have doing it and we do it every day.

Are you using Hair Cycle Shampoo and Conditoner?

Hello. I used the Hair cycle and conditioner until it ran out. I bought two bottles of each. I used both during the first 6 months and feel that helped keep the itching down and improve the growth during post procedure healing.

I use a baby shampoo now because it is easier for me to get it. I use a conditioner 3 times a week. I have not noticed any split ends. My hair appears to be much stronger and easier to manage now.

One question though. Would it be possible to concentrate only on the middle third of the scalp without the need for a full hairline. My point is that as my hair has receded i dont feel i particularly need a hairline as my head is a good shape. But a more mature balding look with hair in the central part of the scalp would work well for me.

I ask only because most of the pics are of guys who want a more forward hairline.

Tingle, I would say it is your choice. Dr. Cole and team will do what you feel best with. My hairline is high, but the natural placement of the hairs made the hairs grow forward along with the rest of my hair. I wanted a natural appearance and feel I have achieved that. I am not trying to look 19 again. My goal was to slow the balding/thinning. I don't mind being bald, but since I have a choice, I prefer to have hair. With Dr. Cole's great team, it made it easier to have it done.
