tiny grafts

Postby drcole » Wed Jun 09, 2004 1:56 pm

i have done more grafts than anyone i know by fit or fue. i can tell you that a 0.75 mm punch has very little applicability given today's technology. don't be fooled by dhi or their rhetoric. their agressive marketing department is making these false and misleading claims; not their doctors. consider this: when have you ever seen a DHI doctor post on the forum? the public wants a scar free procedure. hence, dhi offers you the 0.5 mm punch and all the hair destruction that goes with it.

DHI ordered a 0.5 mm punch only very recently (two months ago) so if tom omastia has seen a patient with 0.5 mm punch sites that is growing hair, then both he and the recipient of those grafts (the patient) were told misleading things by dhi. the 0.5 mm punch has almost zero applicablity.

dhi has been in business for over 30 years. during that time they have not presented a single high quality result. think about it. 30 years and not a single good result.

dhi presented a case in italy that they said had fue. the patient suppossedly had fue 6 months prior to the presentation. the only problem was the patient's hair was about 8 inches long and had been pictured on their website before they even began doing fue. in other words, they presented an strip case as an fue case before an international setting of physicians. they were immediately attacked by the gathering of physicians for allowing new physicians with less than 3 months expereince to perform large sessions of fue on patients that did not recieve full disclosure.
we have done thousands of body hair transplants using a 1 mm punch. in our patients we have not seen a single scar to date. if these scars are not on the chest or legs, it is unlikely you will see them on the scalp either.

what you can see on occassion is a reactive hypopigmentation or an absent follicular unit. with the smaller punches you will see the same thing and less hair on the head due to transection.

tom, you can say all you want about dhi on this forums, but this is not a good example , soon you will discover what we have already warned everyone to watch out for.

Would it be possible for somebody at IHTI to estimate how many grafts 'ap' has on top of his head in his pictures on this thread? I know it is not possible to tell if his hair is coarse and he has not actually had a transplant but from my position with poor donor characteristics I would be happy to get where he is now.
