0.5mg instead of 1mg of Propecia

Postby sentarli » Sat Mar 10, 2007 1:57 pm

Hi Drcole,

been on Propecia for 7 months now, just got a new girl friend and had he shock of my life when I could not perform sexually!!! very very bad erection did not even last 30sec.

Propecia has done wonders for my hair though.

Im thinking of taking 0.5mg a day instead of 1mg. How will this effect my hair regrow and side effects?

Thanks

Sentarli,

I'm not a doctor but your sub-par sexual function could easily be attributed to nerves or anxiety. I wouldn't immediately change your dosage of Propecia. If you're able to perform adequately when you are...um...alone, then you are just fine.

You also may be thinking that the drug will affect you and then you are essentially self-fulfilling that prophecy...sort of like a plecebo effect I guess.

Erectile disorders, pre-mature ejactulation...are often times completely psychological. Again however, I am not a doctor.

Good luck.

Sentarli,

I read your post and had remembered when finasteride was first being studied as a potential hair loss treatment. I could not locate the exact article to reference efficacy at different doses, however I have enclosed this abstract for you to read. It indicates dosage lower than 1 mg as having efficacy for hair loss, but 1mg being the optimal dosage. I am not a doctor or biochemist, but I believe you could try to cut it to .5 every other day and test it, then if you need to go to a straight .5 daily regimine.

If you have been prescribed for Finasteride 1mg, you can not take 5mg without consulting your doctor. Propecia 5mg may give you stronger side effects which may not be good for your health.

I am taking propecia for my hair loss treatment. It certainly has some side effects. I too had experienced side effect like decreasing sexual desire in the beginning but as my body got used to it slowly, the side effect disappeared. After year and a half, today I am satisfied with the result. I am buying propecia from emedoutlet. These guys are best in quality and fast in delivery. Propecia 1mg costs $ 16/- for ONE MONTHS OF SUPPLY. Recently, I have recd 15% discount coupon. The discount coupon number is 5234E. You also can take an advantage of free shipping with code 4848B - You can use either Discount code or free shipping code, you can not use both at a time. If any one of you want to buy propecia and want to take advantage of discount or free shipping, you can try these coupon codes. I believe it should work for you also.

you could go for an aphrodisiac herb to help with the sides- ginsengs being cheap and common, as is garlic (more specifically the alacin (sp) in garlic is supposed to help maintain erections) - also macca root has some tittle tattle backing it as a hair loss cure in its own right ( I think there is a thread on hairlosshelp- dont remember now- basicaly one or two guys having a good experience with it)

Good luck
