Generics Online

Postby Johny Good » Mon Feb 19, 2007 10:59 pm

I've been reading and taking notes on generic brand names offered. It appears the main company mentioned is Finpecia/Fincar made by CIPLA in India? Whats the quality of the product like? Is it consistant with others? And can someone tell me where I can access it online?

I've been taking Finpecia for a 8year period now. Seems to work great. The fact that it's FDA approved would suggest it's of equal quality. Theres many online pharmacies, each member would suggest their own favorite. Have you tried MyHairloss solved.com? Cheap! Look around though.

Good luck

When purchasing generic drugs online there are some associated risks. You need to be sure that you are getting what you think you are getting.

I have bought generic finasteride from

http://www.4rx.com/online-pharmacy/cate ... ?kbid=6979

since 2005. Reliable finasteride from Cipla. So far so good. No complaints

When the patent of a brand name medication expires, a generic version of the drug can be produced and sold. A generic version of a drug must use the same active ingredient(s) as the brand name drug and it must meet the same quality and safety standards. Additionally, the FDA requires that a generic drug be the same as a brand name drug in:

dosage
safety
strength
the way it works
the way it is taken
the way it should be used

My technique in purchasing on-line is to start with a small order, get it, taste it, check, then to increase a bit my order, again check how it works, then – if everything is ok – to make large purchase. As by my experience problems do usually start on the second level.

Generic Medicines are as good as brand name medicine. Generic medicines have the same content that brand names have. The only difference is that the generic medicines are far more cheaper than brand name medicines. I myself am using Finasteride for my hair loss treatment. Finasteride is a generic form of Propecia.

The supply of generics is a really big issue- there are so many web sites & I wouldn't like to say I'm 100% confident. Might it be worth forhair or IHRAS supporting a site, I'm sure I would be happy to pay a little more for the peace of mind. A Xanrox product would be nice ;-)

We've seen some patients who did not respond as well to generic proscar that was split up as they did to brand name propecia. It may simply be that they stopped responding to the finasteride, however.
