Would there be any benefit, or harm, from applying Neosporin to the recipient area now that the scabs are gone? In particular, I am looking for ways to reduce the level of pinkness. I am one week post-op and am out of biotin spray (had a 5 day procedure).

Progress overall:

At this point, I have no scabs in the recipient area; it looks like it has outpaced the donor area (still have a lot of red dots in the areas used on later days).

I used my shaver with its shortest guard today so that all my hair is a uniform length. Wow! Visible pinkness is the only really noticeable negative side effect in the recipient area.

Otherwise, I am enjoying what I have nicknamed the Indian Summer. None of the transplanted hair has fallen out yet the scabs are gone. I know I probably only have a week or two more of this situation but I am enjoying it while it lasts.

And for anyone considering the procedure... I would recommend it. Last night further proved that it was a good idea for me at least. I am a heavy clubber in LA. Go out all the time. Well, I have had a few weeks off due to the procedure and last night was my first night back. I wore a trendy LA/military looking hat from Urban Outfitters as it fits in a more graft friendly way (doesn’t touch them at all). In any case, women can sense the increased confidence. It was an insanely good night. I look forward to more of them.

I have also used neosporin for the same purpose you have mentioned. I did find it to be somewhat effective. Just apply a thin coat to the individual areas of pinkness. It should provide some value in bringing down the pinkness a bit earlier than otherwise.
