....I went to see my doctor, he ask me if any one in my family had mpb or was balding to any degree i said no, no one... so he decided to take a blood test. i didnt have any abnormalities in my blood(except my sugar was a little high), no diseases, no hormore or thyroid problems... any ways he said that my hair loss may be due to a phase that my hair is going thru that could last 6-8 months, he also told me it may be mpb(im in between 1-2 in the norwood scale) he suggested i should not do anything about it yet,since he is not sure if its AA, but he said it was my call if it really bothered me that i should consider taking propecia or applying rogaine on my hair... since he suggested not to do anything yet i decided not to, he also told me to keep an eye on it, to see if it gets worse..then i should consider talking it. The point is it really bothers me that im losing my hair and i dont wanna risk losing more hair. what do you guys think i should do? if you think i should start taking propecia where can i buy it? also if its not AA and i start taking propecia can it harm me? i also asked my doctor if i should visit a dermotologist... he said theres no need. Should i see a Dermotologist? Thankyou guys for your time

how old are you? is your father bald and if he is what norwood scale?

sure, get the dermatologist's opinion. there are some classic signs that point to androgenic alopecia if you have it. the sooner you get on propecia, the better off you will be. propecia rarely makes you better (USUALLY YOU JUST STABILIZE), but if you delay taking it for 5 years, you will never get back to where you are today.

Dear Dr Cole

I'm visiting Dr Tommy Hwang on Saturday and will
discuss the possibility of taking Propecia .

I've been reading about the strip and FIT method.
And did not know about the FIT method .

I'm assuming the method I received was the strip
method . My stiches are being removed on Saturday.

My surgery took place on November 4th and on Saturday
it will be December 2nd ; having the stiches still in is
uncomfortable and I was told that they should of been
removed somtime ago .

What worries me is that there is still a '' tightness '' in
the donor area .

Also if I get my hair cut short in the future I'm I going to
have a visible scar ?

Dr Hwang has suggested that I return to his clinic next
September to have hair restoration peformed on the crown.

What I'm puzzled about is will I have to go throught the strip
method again in order to donate hair to the crown; or could
the FIT method be used .

Maybe the strip method was used for the best reason and
because I'm forty years of next year .

But I was unaware of the FIT method till I read this
HITI forum.

I will be in North Carolina in June 2007 visiting friends

im 19 and no nobody in my family is bald or balding...none of my grandparents, parents, uncles, cousins, brothers, or sisters. Also my hair loss is mostly happening on the side of my hairline(temples). Also i see smaller hair falling out..
