This patient received 3950 CIT grafts back in December of 2003 with Dr. Cole.
Prior to this treatment he had undergone antiquated hair surgeries that resulted in massive open donor scarring and rows of misangled, tufty grafts. To compound the problem this individual experienced additional hair loss, further exposing the plugs and scars. The objective of the CIT session was to create coverage over the front, top, and crown area. Additionally, the hyper-dense plug grafts on the hairline were de-bulked with CIT and the resulting follicular units were redistributed.

This is yet another case that illustrates the effectiveness of CIT in harvesting large numbers of grafts. We were happy to greet the patient as his slam dunk transformation was undeniable.

Wow. This certainly is lifechanging. Did the patient shave those nasty plugs down on a daily basis or bear them to the world? I'm sure he is thrilled with his new head. He must have some limitations still, styling wise,(donor area looks a bit sparse in areas) but what an amazing difference. Congrats.

he is happy to get his life back.

it is always a problem when you take away hair from one place to move it to another place. the primary problems are the open donor scars.

Wow. Photos like these aren't all over the internet because few clinics can offer this kind of repair. The donor area is definately depleted but just think, you don't see much at all of the FIT extractions. Those old punches are to be thanked for the low density on the donor area. Otherwise, you can basically say that this guy has been rebirthed. Cheers!

Very, very happy for this gentleman. To go from where he was to where he is now is truly remarkable, both from a surgical standpoint and from a life-changing cosmetic standpoint. Congrats to both doctor Cole and to the gentleman.

Can this excellent results be expected from your Belgium clinic?
I think that there will be a lot of Europeans patients that will be interested in this kind of results and especially from FUE...

Absolutely!

It took 5 years for FIT to get to the level where it is today. Dr. Cole would not allow just any doctor to utilized the technique unless the results where up to his very high standards.

This particular case has struck a nerve with me. It is just truly amazing what you have done here. Congratulations to the patient. You are truly a gifted surgeon. After seeing the results of this practice time after time I can't imagine going to any other surgeon, but particularly for a repair job. Excellent work to say the least...

Nice work Doc! Well, the first time I have seen after pictures that impressed me bigtime! Sick of seeing after pictures that show no improvement in the clients overall appearance. Most after pictures show more hair on top, but the client still has a huge forehead and the added hair on top does little to improve the appearance of the client, MHO.

I want more work done on my head, but only if I can then comb the front hairline down over my forehead somewhat and still have plenty back behind that front hairline. Too many comb overs in the pictures I see and not much stylistic improvement causing the client to look appealing.

If I am correct, this person here with the incredible new head of hair, has paid to the tune of 20K or more for this improvement, am I right?

Wondering how much a 1,000 session would accomplish? I have two hundred plugs up front from way back by Dominic Brandy in Pittsburgh and little esle behind it, which is totally embarassing to say the least and I wear a hat at all times mostly. I could care less about having a bald spot on the crown or in the back, but would love to have more added and blended in up front and also some additional work done on the top of my head, so that I can have some of the front coming downward over the forehead a bit.
Thanks for any input here!

We can check on how much he has paid. We see a number of patients who were treated by Dr. Brandy in the 90s. Plugs can be very good for coverage if you can fill in around them. one can also simply break them up and make them no longer appear like a plug hair transplant. one really needs to decide what they want upfront. if they want to appear full, then the best idea is to leave plugs in place until the end. at the end, you can do some fine tunning where we break up only a handful that are still visible or noticeable. If a thin but natural look is wanted, i recommend just breaking them up. breaking them up always results in some hair that does not grow back. therefore, if the goal is to look as full as possible, you should add hair first and then break up only that which is still noticeable.

Thank You much for the response! But.....I will never understand why anyone, no matter how skilled or schooled they are, needs to earn these types of fees for one patient, or several hours or less of work. This eliminates 75% or more of the possible client/patients out there who would love to have this work done on their heads.
I was hoping five or six thousand would be enough to improve greatly my appearance but with this case posted here, it looks like I am way off base with m assumptions.

This is the best repair case I have ever seen!

Just an observation but in addition to the hair, the patients scalp looks much healthier after Dr Coles work, is that due simply to the removal of some of the mass of the old plugs via fue? In the before photo the recipient area looks ill to be frank! Are there any theory's on that?

There was alot of scarring from prior plug work that did not grow. It is always a concern when you see this white marbleized skin because the concern is that additional grafts will not grow in this type of skin either. One also has to wonder why the original grafts did not grow. We see about one to two cases every 10 years that simply will not grow hair. This is usually due to some sort of underlying inflammatory condition in the skin. The list of causes is enormous but it includes Lupus, Lichen Planopilaris, and Folliclitis Decalvens along with a long list of other conditions. In this case, it was simply scar tissue. Adding normal dermis and hair into scar tissue increases blood flow and adds normal skin to the area. This helps to repopulate the skin with normal dermal components and leads to a healthier looking skin. We find similar occurrences with old strip scars.

Fantastic to hear from you, I don't like to dampen the mood of this thread England is rainy and grey today! Not somewhere to go on your holidays!

I didn't realize that the fu's actually had a positive effect on the skin itself. Presumably due to the small bulk of the fu's some of the improvement is the skins own reaction to the mild trauma of the graft by making new collagen etc? I guess what I'm asking is if you treated this patent for his scalp as opposed to hair loss how much improvement would you create if you just made a number of tiny recipient sites? Or used some other less laborious method like say laser 'peel'?

I have to say that even though I struggle with the theory I can see the benefits of the practice- my scalp is much improved after my trips to Atlanta & Cyprus, which is of course a little counter intuitive as I remember one of my biggest worries before seeing you was that more scaring, pitting & general marblising would be inevitable.
