Hi,

Is nizoral 1% good enough or do you need 2% to help with hair loss?

hair loss

start with 1% to see how you tolerate the shampoo. then increase to 2% if you like it.

nizoral is a man made chemical. minoxidil is a man made chemical. propecia and avodart are man made chemicals. hair cycle is composed of natural ingredients. saw palmetto is a natural ingredient.

Nizshampoo vs Nizoral for dandruff

Postby forhair » Thu Nov 23, 2006 5:34 am

Nizoral shampoo contains ketoconazole, it's an anti-fungal agent that has been clinically proven to control the symptom of the dandruff problem on a long period of time.

As far as Nizshampoo, it contains the same ingrediant (ketoconazole 20 mg), so this might work for you.

is once a week enough for nizshampoo? or 2 times a week? and should I use it for ever? I believe it is anagen starter?

nizoral will promote anagen. i recomend it once or twice a week alternating with haircycle the rest of the time. if you have dandruff, you should use a dandruff shampoo such as head an sholders once or twice a week, nizoral once a week and haircycle the rest of the time. i like the haircycle more than nizoral because it contains natural ingredients and antioxidants that are much healthier for you than nizoral.

nizoral will help with dandruff and seborrheic dermatitis, but not as well as something like head and shoulders or a tar based shampoo. the reason the ketoconazole seems to work is perhaps related to the theory some have that fungus can be the cause of dandruff in some instances. the cause of seborrehic dermatitis is still not well known. A topical steroid does wonders for it though. steroids reverse inflamation.

HI DrCole,

So can we conclude that any shampoo that contains ketoconazole will do the same trick as Nizoral? (promote Anagen)

thanks

Ketoconazole and hair loss

Postby forhair » Thu Jan 11, 2007 9:24 am

I heard that Ketoconazole may cause liver damage, stomach pain and even depression...
I recommend haircycle to promote anagen, it is an all natural product and works wonders with a combination of nizoral.
I gave the shampoo to my 70 years old mother and she can't stop praising it, she swears that the gray hairs are disappearing and that her hair feels fuller.
