Postby Don Reverso » Tue Oct 17, 2006 5:27 pm

I am 3 weeks post op from body hair. The extraction sites (THIGH AREA) are still red. Is this normal? How long can I expect them to stay red? I will post pics when I get a camera. THANKS FOR THE HELP!

the extraction sites gradually fade over 2 to 3 months. i have rarely seen the color take longer to fade. you may try putting some hydrocortisone on the sites to minimize the risk that they will darken or lighten in pigment over time due to inflamation of the melanocytes or the cells that make skin color. also, the hair cycle post op gel is good to apply to these sites two or three times a day to reduce redness. gradually the color will fade, however.

post surgical gel

In fact, Post surgical gel has been designed to improve wound healing and redness after hair transplant surgery. You can apply it to the body, where the extraction sites are still red to optimize recovery. This gel has growth stimulants, antioxidants, anti-inflammatory agents and healing extracts to minimize redness, swelling and soreness.

Haircycle post surgical gel has natural ingredients, such as Aloe vera, Vitamin E, vitamin B5, allantoin and azulene, that help heal the skin and stimulate the growth of healthy tissue. It has moisturizing properties to help restore and maintain natural skin moisture and helps soothe irritated skin.
