Acell / PRP and CIT Transplant Results

Postby mg63 » Sat Aug 21, 2010 11:59 am

First I want to say thank you to Dr. Cole for his time and attention on my procedure - a true humanitarian.

It has been 4 months since my Acell/PRP and Transplant. By way of background - in the crown I had Acell/PRP with microneedling and Acell/PRP with CIT on the front

1-7 days

Crown - micro-needling healed within 2 days.
Front - All scabs were gone in 7 days.

7-14 days

Crown - No change.
Front - Minimal shedding of grafts.

14-30 days

Crown - No change.
Front - 20-30% shedding of grafts(much lower than pervious procedures). Red bumps were occurring in the area of the grafts because new hairs were already pushing in behind the grafts.

30-60 days

Crown - no change
Front - red bumps continue because grafts are not shedding.

60-90 days

Crown - New small hairs start to appear (need a magnifying glass to see)
Front - new discovery, grafts are shedding (being pushed out by new hair) and surrounding the grafted hair are 5-6 new hairs. Yep - new hair...amazing

90-120 days
Crown - Visible thickening, previous small hairs are maturing...wahoo!!!
Front - Grafts are growing well and continue to see new hairs around the grafted hairs.

Nice, sound like you are going to have good results...progress is good.
Bare in mind that the growth in the crown can take longer then the front.
Could you post photos in your 6 months progress?

Glad to hear you are seeing notable progress already! It's always interesting to read detailed updates from patients, particularly those who have had the, relatively new, ACell and PRP therapies. I'd also be very interested in seeing some progress photos if you feel comfortable posting!

4 month and...
the crown treated with PRP/Acell continues to fill in
the grafts in the front continue to develop new hairs - cool stuff

Per the redness - my redness was gone within 2-3 weeks.

I will post some pix within the next week.

this procedure was the best ever!!!

I dont understand why the forums arnt on fire with this, I mean the mainstream media too frankly!!!?? This is a viable cure for baldness right? No limit with donor???

Am I right in thinking that you have added a hair follicle cell culture and acell and this is growing viable hair on the crown? Which would probaly have needed at least 3000fus for a passable result? This is frankly miraculous!!!!!

Any more details much appreciated!!!

Although the after photo is not very good comparison (different light, hair color, angle), i can see good thickening of hairs in the crown. Very good progress for 5 months.
Looks like the acell is working. Keep us updated...

That looks great! If i have thinning in the crown (27M, currently at a 3V, on rogaine and propecia), is it possible for someone like me to have the PRP/Acell treatment in the crown to grow in new hairs? Will these hairs on this patient's crown thicken to the same extent as the other transplanted CIT hairs on the front?

Any chance of an 8 month update MG63? IS your crown still improving?

still thickening - probably going to get another treatment next month, since there is some speculation that some thinning may occur by the 12 month. Although nothing has been substantiated. will post pix when i get some time.
