Do some people take 2.5mg of Avodart per day?

Postby bighoopla » Thu Nov 16, 2006 1:19 pm

I read the recent clinical trials that have been posted here, and the best results were achieved for the test subjects who took 2.5mg of Avodart per day. That would be five .5mg softgel capsules per day. At $3 per pill, it would cost $15 per day  .

Does anyone actually take that much per day.

Thanks,
Brian

not very many take that much. most take 0.5 mg per day.

you can also make a topical solution combining finasteride, 5% minoxidil, 2 0.5 mg avodart gel caps, and 2 methyprednisolone 4mg tablets that you apply daily.

That's got to be real expensive. Does anyone use this at this time? What about the prednisone. Isnt long term use of prednisone dangerous to the immune response as well as our joints?

actually, you can eliminate the steroid and it will work just as well. you can probably mix this without great cost. the key is to find a good compounding chemist.

Some people have recently been mixing avodart with pure aloe, applying it to the scalp, then rinsing it out after about 10 minutes with mixed success.

Dr. Cole, do you think this is a viable approach, or does the avodart need to be left on the scalp?

drcole...Can you become more specific?
- finasteride mg ????????????
- 1mg avodart
- 8mg methyprednisolone

All these in 60ml of 5% minox solution? if not what will be the "vehicle"?
What about the penetration ability of this combination?
Is it safe to use a corticosteroid like methyprednisolone for a long time?
Have you seen people who already tried this?

Thanks for your time...
