Alt Options for Thin Donor

Did a virtual consult and got my recommendation.

My issue is that my donor seems very thin to me (see photo, but that is not very accurate - it is thinner back there), so I am wondering if Dr. Cole can ever take donor from the 'fringe' of the hair? What I mean is that I usually trim a good inch or so off the bottom / base of my neck in between hair cuts. It just grows to long back there. Same thing by sideburns and similar.

So instead of further thinning out the donor area, can my donor be taken from these areas (in red in photo) to help preserve the donor area? Is my donor too thin for an HT in the first place?

Thoughts.

Thanks.

Pal,

We prefer to transplant the hairs that are within the "safe zone". These hair are less likely to be lost in the future. Please give us a call so that we may discuss the specifics via telephone. We could discuss Dr. Cole's recommendation in full detail and maybe take an alternate approach to achieve your goal. Hope to hear from you soon!

Dr. Cole is going to take donor densities through-out the entire donor area and then he will extract from the areas with the greatest density...
Another option for you would be "donor recharging"... that's where he can replace a scalp donor graft with a body hair graft...
He can take the hair from the neck area only if he feels that this area won't start receeding up the neck...
I hope this answered your question Very Happy
