Hi Forhair and to all,

I wanted to get some advice please. I am exactly one month Post OP with 1640 CIT/FUE done March 26, 2008. My Donor Area still seems to be very irritated, itching, and sometimes even bleeds if I accidentally scratch a bump. Some of the areas are worse than others. For the most part what I have read here, the Donor Area should be a non issue by now. Is this normal and how long should this persist? For the most part I try not to scratch it and try to tolerate it. I have tried benedryl and cortisone. My main concern of course is this normal, how long will it persist, and will there be scars since it has seemed to be irritated so long. Any advice and information would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Don

I suspect that there are some ingrown hairs. Some people are prone to these when they shave. when we shave the donor area, it is possible that some hairs will grow in and create an irritation. the way to treat this is simply to pop them and all should be well.

this is quite uncommon, however. in the long run, it will not create a problem for you, but initially they can be a nuisance.
