Hi All,

Just got a vitamin catalog through the post and under the L-Arginine amino acid supplement it mentions that amino acid helps the body make nitric oxide, which if I remember rightly has a part to play in the hair loss cycle. Has anyone looked at L-Arginine as a hair loss supplement?

Very best

NV

Hi NV,

There isn't an exceptional amount of data that suggests that L-Arginine alone is proven to help grow hair. It does increase nitric oxide and improve blood vessel function which is necessary for hair growth. It seems like this supplement may be another product to add to the regime under a physicians direction. It is very important to remember that L-Arginine may cause many side-effects which all need to be considered before taking it.

My advice is not medical advice

Thanks CITness,

I wasnt thinking about diving in on the L Arganine thing, but what side effects would be typical? Is it bad for the liver in large doses? If its main advantage is as vasodilator might it be as well to take say, garlic, ginko or even aspirin as part of the regimen?

With thanks

NV

PS Have we met? Just wondered!

By reading this message, you probably aready know who I am and remember my personality.
