Are FIT and FUE basically the same procedures? If not, what are the differences? Are these just basically a non-evasive way to get the hair from the donor area, and the placement in the reciepent area is similar to the placement ffrom a strip HT?

Advise on finding the best MD to perform these procedures?

FUE or FIT relates to a surgical procedure that uses extraction of the hair follicles directly, it is a much less invasive procedure than old technology (strip) , FIT does not produce strip scar and with this technique you can shave your head to 1 guard while with the strip you get a long scar that prevents the shaved look and you need to camouflage and cover with hair.
FIT (follicular Isolation Technique) Has taken the same idea of FUE but the different is that FIT was developed by Dr. Cole, MD with much success and consistent results, FIT uses different tools that were customized by Dr. Cole and are used only by the IHTI doctors, there are also different types of tools that control the depth of our punches , the extraction of grafts without trauma and those tools are pattened, FIT has also a different technique of extracting the grafts from the donor area.
With FIT or CIT (Cole Isolation Technique) the doctors averaged a transection rate of 2 to 4% while in the industry ,people were claiming a transection rate of 15 to 20 %.
As one of the IHTI doctors said and i quote:
Quote:
We wanted to make a difference between our technique and what you can encounter outside. It is a brand name.I can do an analogy with cars.A SUV is a bigger car than the normal size car .But a SUV KIA is not comparable to a BMW SUV ( because of the engine performance ).It is important to associate a name to a certain quality work that we are offering in a consistent base in our group.

You said and i quote:
Code:

The placement in the reciepent area with FIT is more efficient then with Strip, the reason is that with FIT the doctor can cherry pick the desired group of hairs for a given area (single hairs for hairlines) while with strip the doctors are limited to the hair grouping they pulled out from the strip...

The best MD's for FIT are on this website, feel free to contact us for more information.
