BHT growth is still unknown in terms of percentage and timing. It varies a lot from patient to patient. Body hair does not cover as well as scalp hair. BHT is a great alternative solution when we can not get scalp hairs. Especially for repair cases where the donor area has been depleted or for filling when someone has an extended hair loss.
It may grow slowly and takes up to two years before full maturation (i.e. get the maximum yield and also the maximum diameter of the hair shaft and shiny color of the hairs).
We have noticed the body hair takes the scalp characteristics. However, the scalp hairs have more value. They have more hairs per graft in average and a better shaft diameter. BHT should be used only when the donor area is limited. |
