Shock Loss and previous transpalnted hair

Why does shock loss occur to previous transplanted hair as well as original hair.

I suffered to both. As read before the hair should return but maybe a diameter smaller.

I guess the prior transplanted hair will still react to the incisions next to it

Shock loss is due to a physical trauma caused by surgical instruments to the surrounding follicle. Grafting at high density will increase that risk. It is a risk to take and you need to be aware of all the possibilities you have to make a wise choice.

The surgical instruments are sharp and they can hurt the bulb of surrounding grafts,and make them fall. It is temporary, but it pushes the hair to the next cycle.

Medications such as Propecia and Rogaine help to strengthen hairs follicle and decrease the probability of shock loss, but the risk is always there. That�s why we recommend patient to these medication because it usually tends to reverse the hair cycle
