If you send me some pictures, I will give them and your questions to Dr. Cole. He can tell you what your best options are, how to do it, and how many grafts it might take. Jessica@forhair.com
The forums can be confusing, so it is possible that the best way to get information is directly from the doctor. If you donor area is thinned out, not just the top and front of your head, there might be something else going on. Dr. Cole will be able to tell based on your pictures if you need to be tested for hair loss causes other than male pattern baldness.
Fit farming is definitely an option. It sounds like you have a pretty good understanding of the concept. The purpose is to keep the hair thicker, not necessarily longer. It provides coverage by not allowing the scalp to show through as much. Cutting the donor hair short or keeping it long will both look fine after Fit farming as the body hair blends nicely with the scalp hair. It just takes longer for body hair grafts to start growing and offer coverage when compared to scalp hair grafts. It also sounds like you have a good donor source for body hair. Please send a picture of all donor areas that you would like for us to consider.
Dr. Cole can offer you several solutions to your problems and design the best plan for you and your goals. There are risks and benefits to be aware of when considering hair transplant surgery. Having a photo consult can outline possible consequences, answer your questions, and set up a plan of action based on your preferences.
Let me know if I can help further.
Thanks,
