So i want to stop sheading my hair, but i dont want to burn it off either. Am not having the best of luck with regain. Nourkin looks good but does it work? i hear most people complaining that its really expencive and doesnt do much. I dont really care how much it costs as long as it works and my head doesnt go on fire!

Have you been using rogaine foam or the liquid, and for how long?

We recomend the foam. It dries quicker, it is absorbed better, and it does not contain propylene glycol (antifreeze), which irritates the skin on many individuals. The foam is a significant improvement over the old liquid form.

Antifreeze! i never knew that was good for your hair haha. I tried a liquid one alright, never stayed on it for long. Might try the foam, but like the sounds of the natural / vitamin treatments, nourkrin etc, but it is quite steep

Dr. Cole, I switched to the foam about a month ago from the liquid. Ive been using the liquid previous for 2 years, but after switching to the foam, I have been experiencing some shedding in the crown area. Is that common and to be expected?

That is very interesting. one of two possible scenarios is occurring. first, you could be responding better to the foam meaning that more hairs in the resting phase are shifting to the growing anagen phas. this would be very positive. the other is that your hair loss is progressing. the former is a good thing. the latter is a bad thing. regardless, there is no reason to switch back.

I really hope it is positive. I seem to have pretty decent results from liquid rogaine, and I have also been taking propecia for the past 2 1/2 years. Then I immediately experienced some thinning in the crown a week or two later. Originally I thought this may be shedding, so I'll keep my fingers crossed that i'll have stronger hair growing back after several months.
