Haggis,

Excellent, I will look forward to hearing about your experience on the forum. Although this sounds a bit cliche I know you are in good hands.
Regards,

Fit Club

Hi Haggis,

I have to say for a UK HT, thats not that bad, at least there is no scaring on the scalp etc, I doubt that any of the mini grafts would have to come come out when the fue's go in around them.

I had a Nobel Clinic Ht fixed by Dr Cole et al and he improved my donor scar by cutting it out all together, a fabulous job.

good luck, not that you'll need it!

Hi NV, your right i dont think the mini grafts need to come out, hopefully dr cole will be able to hide them by planting grafts around them and creating a new softer hairline with single grafts.

How wide is your donor scar now ?

Hi Haggis,

Its hard to say how wide the donor scar is now, I can find it sometimes with my fingers but I haven't 'seen' it for years as I wear my hair quite long and its just not easy to find these things on the back of your head while holding mirrors etc I would think around 3mm at the wider or raised points, probably nearer 1mm at the bits where I cant feel anything, certainly an improvement on my last scar. I'm not sure in your case but if you have a wide scar it might be easier to remove it altogether assuming your scalp is slack enough, apparently grafting into scar tissue is less predictable as the skin layers are disrupted, I have had no grafts into my donor scar, and I problay never will now. Lwet me know how you get on

Haggis,

I don't believe in your case Dr. Cole will remove very many, if any of the mini grafts. There is a post I was looking for where he describes the different approaches to plug/mini repair. The analogy relates to a bus in the front yard you can either move it out and have less coverage or plant around it. That was the general idea. I have seen your photos and I think you will be successful planting around them, but of course that will ultimately between you and Dr. Cole.
Regards,

Fit Club

Will the recipient area need to be shaved ?
