I quote this from our website:

"No significant side effects have been noted in clinical trials with this herbal extract, except for rare headache or stomach upset if taken on an empty stomach.
Because of possible hormonal activity, it is not recommended for women who are pregnant or breast-feeding."

Some men using saw palmetto have reported side effects such as tender breasts and a decline in sexual desire. Again....these are the minority.
In any way do not take this medication without first talking to your doctor if you have cancer of the prostate, breast cancer, or any other sex hormone-related disease or disorder.

The combination of Saw Palmetto and Dut gave me more intense sides than Dut alone...

Forget Saw Palmetto. It has very weak anti androgen effect....

Greece,

The Dutasteride alone does not deliver this effect?

At first, dutasteride gave me serious sides like lower libido, sex drive problems, testicle pain, watery sperm, hard to keep an erection etc. BUT now almost two years later I have no sides.

I remember that when I was taking Dut and Saw Palmetto at the same time the sides were insufferable... Quitting Saw Palmetto the sides reduced and now I have no problem...

I am surprised, as Saw Palmetto is not known to be a terribly strong anti-androgen. This is particularly the case when compred to propecia or Dutasteride. Interesting though...

If saw palmetto gave you side effects, maybe you should try a shampoo that contains saw palmetto like Haircycle shampoo and conditioner.

Saw Palmetto is known to inhibit conversion of testosterone to DHT; inhibits binding of DHT to androgen receptors. You can still be benefit of its properties using a daily shampoo and conditioner like Haircycle.

Hi All,

Regarding saw palmetto being used as a topical, has anyone ever tryed using duasteride or proscar as a topical? The face that women are recomended not to handle ether drug sugests that both are ablt to penatrate the skin, presumily mixed in with a minox or sprio lotion they would get into the skin and the follicles... Has any work been done on this?
