This is a nice result for a currently 38 year old male, who began as a classic Norwood III-Vertex, potential V. At age 35, he wanted to fill in the recessions, redefine the frontal hairline, and give some light coverage to the thinning crown. He suffered progressive hair loss during this period of time, which, in retrospect, would probably have him at about a class V had he not undergone HT surgery. It is a good teaching case for demonstrating different philosophies about HT surgery.

Between early 2004 and late 2005, he had three smaller procedures, which together accounted for 4800 grafts, all via FIT technique. Each time he was seen, we noticed progression of the hair loss, mostly manifesting as loss behind the frontal forelock (the "C"-shaped pattern so common with class III's as the recessions move back and centrally), and also widening of the crown loss. Eventually, the middle third on top was beginning to go, too.

This gentleman is a good example of a pattern which is not uncommon. The hair loss is not aggressive early on (teens and twenties) and may not manifest at all until later in life (30's or even 40's), but may progress relatively rapidly to a class V. I know, it happened to me. Fortunately, we were able to keep up with this man's loss with smaller procedures and the end result is quite good.

Forhair,

This is definitely great work! How many of the 4800 grafts were sourced from body hair or was the body hair primarily for FIT farming? Thanks.
Regards,

FIT Club

This is an extremely nice result and a testament to how a higher hairline can look just as good if it is full looking, especially for the patient's age.

It also proves how several smaller sessions over time are just as beneficial as one mega session and gives the opportunity to tell where the hairline is going.

ANOTHER STELLAR RESULT!!!!

I totally agree...notice the smooth natural hairline...this is unique to IHTI's work. no evidence of hair transplant, totally natural Smile

this is wonderful...thank god this patient found dr cole and not some doctor with an aggressive approach...
it proves that it is better to go safe with a good plan for the future instead of pushing the numbers.

Hi to DR COLE and staff I am the patient in the photos, how is everybody doing ?
First off I want to say how shocked I am to see my pics on here, was not expecting ,but its really awsome to see how far I have come Dr Cole is obviously the best
I know people visiting would like some more info .
All FIT taking from scalp .There was 1600 fit taking from my leg ,but they were put back in the donor area during 3rd surgey .1st surgery 1200 ,2nd 1600 ,3rd 2000 .total 4800 .The after pics were taking on the days off my 4th surgey ,another 2400 .all fit again, from scalp .so now I have a total of 7200 all from scalp (FIT) and, even with that many donor grafts my hair still looks thick in the back I am now 1 month post op from 4th surgery and everything is going as planed again
from reading this ,you might say what about the chest .Well there must be some mix up ,with the pics i never had any fit taking from the chest just the leg ,1600 hundred ,that whent back into the donor area .
DR COLE and staff has done thousands off patients and lots off pics I can see how easy this could happen .Honest mistake
well anyway I have just about forgotten about my hairloss and many off his patience will understand this .DR COLE is the best. he is a great surgeon a great guy and would have been sucsessfull in any path he has chosen in life you will know this when you meet hime thank god fore you and me he chose hair restoration He did change my life

Just wondering...Of the 4800 grafts..how many went into the hailrline area? As natural as it looks, it doesn't look like more than 2000 up front.

headsup, seems like you didn't read the post description, it clearly explain it:

We did small sessions of total 4800 grafts since 2005, during this time he experienced more lost of hair...if he didn't loose hair after his first session then he probably was finished, but becuase the progression of his hairloss we had to continue with the small sessions to fill the areas that he is losing.

Hi its Coles patient .To answwer the question about grafts in the font hairline ,you guessed about rite .the pics you see of the surgery day ,is my first surgery of 1200 and the after pics are of the total 4800 .That first surgery ,800 whent into the hairline and 400 into the crown those 800 grafts were anough to give me back a full thick hairline after 6 months I was blown away. it was amazing to me ,the next 2 surgeries he whent in to the mid scalp witch is where i continued loosing hair (between the the forlock and crown) and also thickened up the hairline and droped it each time , mostly the corners (temples )and we know how mutch new area takes up grafts .and off coarse I had him hit the crown each time so I would say about 2000 in the frontal zone and the rest into the the top .all over
If I get a chance I will send some pics .GOOD DAY

i agree it is a very nice result . I would like to ask the patient .

1. As you had a lot of hair , before the treatment ,did any shock loss notice after , the first months ?
2. also i see the photo 'after' of your crown , and do not seem like it is
'transplanted' , as it has 1,2 red points , but not many small red holes .
Is the photo correct ?
3. the texture of the new hair at the beginning was same like your 'old'
hair ? Or at the begging were more 'curly' and later become same ?
4. Also , are you now taking propecia ?

thanks in advance for answer , if you already told some of these , i did not notice
