Propecia & Avodart

I have been taking Propecia for 4-5 years now, and am feeling like it is starting to loss its effect. I have heard numerous things about Avodart (think it has another name, but not sure), but when I talk to my doctor he says that he only knows about Propecia. He is a new doctor to me, and I would really like to find more info about switching. Does anybody know what the difference is and how I can find a doctor in the Tampa Bay, FL area that will be able to assist me?

Thank you so much for all your help!

Propecia is typically the first line of defence against hairloss. Avodart may be a consideration.

We may be able to prescribe Avodart or an topical alternative if you feel that your treatment with Propeica has run its course.

Firstly we need to do a consult with you to determine what course is appropriate. We have a photo consult options whereby your photos and medical history are reviewed and a recommendations is given.

You can call the office for more information - 800 368 4247 - or simply send along you photos to

Indicate that you are looking for an alternative to Propecia.

Thanks for posting.

I have just been prescribed Propecia and hopefully it well help.
Only time will tell . My hair restoratation surgery was carried
out in South Korea .

I have bought a 3 months supply of Propecia of which was 162,000
WON .

The Korean pharmacist explained to me that pregnant women must
not handle this drug as it may prove fatle .

I wonder is it safe to use Propecia and Saw Palmetto and the new
Rogaine foam altogther ...and is it worth it ?
As it maybe a costly venture ; any advice is alwys welcome .

My hair restoration surgery took place on November 4th 2007.

Using Propecia and Saw Palmetto may be somewhat redundant. On the other hand many physicians feel that using Propecia in combination with Minox has a synergistic effect. Many of our patients use Fin and Minox together aswell as using Nizoral and Hair Cycle Shampoo.
