loss of hair at 20

I recently coloured my hair a lighter shade to my natural colour, however the colour was terribly wrong so the next morning I coloured my hair a darker shade to cover the previous colour. As a result, I have noticed a significant amount of hair loss throughout my head. Im deeply concerned as I already have thin hair and am now confused as to why I have lost so much hair. Is this a permanent effect? Will I lose more hair? Will hair grow back? How long before I start to see any improvements? I am a 20 year old female and extremely scared and worried.
