Considering FIT procedure. A few Q's

Hello, I have been considering getting FIT done on my receding hairline and was considering 2000 - 2500 FUE. I'm a norwood 3. A few questions:

I am a diffuse thinner, but dont want to shave down the recepient hair, only the donor hair due to work. I have no problem shaving down the sides and back of the head, just not the top. Is this possible? My temples are bald, but I have hair in the middle area. Would dr. cole have too much trouble going around and through some of the hairs in the middle to plant them?

How many days would I be looking at for say 2500 graphs?

How long is the current wait? (backlog)

Thank you and I appreciate the help.

Hey Jorgev89,

Glad that you're considering to have Dr. Cole to do the procedure for you; he's just the best. You could check out my 4 and month post operative pictures on the FIT Photos Forum. Basically, if you have very thick hair on the top of your hair and are only balding in the temple area, most probably they won't shave that top part out. However, if the doctor thinks that you may eventually lose some hair from the top area, he'll probably shave that part also in order to get more "yield" which basically means to get more grafts compacted into the area. This was done in my case in order to get as much as grafts as possible in the recepient area. It usually takes longer to place in the grafts in the recepient area between other hairs that's why most of the time they recommend to shave off all the hair. Don't worry, it will grow back and much better this time. Preparation is important before the surgery and you want to do everything you can to get the most benefit out of the surgery, since you're not going to do this probably more times than one. In regards to 2500 graphs, Dr. Cole and the team did about 2300+ graphs for me in a 3 day period. Let me know how it goes.

Jorge,

You do not need to clip down the top for HT surgery here. Remember that surgery will take longer if you do not shave. If getting done faster is more important to you, I suggest you let the staff shave on top. If you do not mind staying with us a bit longer, then a longer "do" is fine.

2500 FIT will take 4-5 day in most patients.

Thanks for the question.

Hello,
You don't have to shave the top.You will do as fine as if you shaved.
It takes a little bit longer but that difference is not in term of days.Let say we decide to do 600 graft a day.In state of leaving the office at 5 pm , you will stay until 7 pm.
I will advise you to book for 5 days.It could be done from 3 to 5 days.
