Fin sides - what should I do?

Hey guys, just wanted to ask for some advice regarding Fin. Been on it for about 9/10 weeks and experienced some libido problems from about 2 weeks in. Thats been coupled with slight pain down in that region. Therefore I reduced my dose to every other day and things haven't improved (to be honest, they might have got worse).

So I'm wondering what to do. I don't want to battle through the sides for months on end then quit Fin and experience a massive shed so should I persist with every other day for a few more weeks and see what happens. Maybe try every three days? What about adding topical spiro/Revivogen into my regime?

I don't want to touch Advodart or Dut cause of my relatively young age (24) and I figure Saw Palmetto will give me similar sides to Fin. I'm just looking to maintain for now so my transplant remains good for a few years before I need to revisit the whole thing. Any comments would be much appreciated. Cheers.

Although I am 10 years older than you, I suffered with the side effects when I started Finasteride and again when I went on to Dutasteride.
They seem to last around a month then disappear although I have found one long term effect of staying on the drugs is a loss in ejaculation strenth and produce a lot less seamen.

My GP said to stay on the drug for 6 months then have a 3 month break and then return to the drug, in other words have a 3 month break after every 6 months.

Cheers guys, I think I'll try EOD for a wee while and see what happens. If that still doesn't work then I'll drop it back to maybe 2x week, maybe add Spiro and although it won't do as good a job as Fin every day hopefully it will still have some effect. I'll continue using Minox and Nizoral as well, so hopefully a consistent regime such as this will have a positive effect and help me maintain for a while.

In using Fin for 6 months then 3 months off, I'd not only be fearful of a shed but I wouldn't want to have the continued sides - my health and general well being is more important than my hair........if another Ht is needed sooner as a result then that something that I'm quite happy to do. Thanks again guys.
