Greetings..
Thought I would join in the fun and introduce myself. I am 25yrs old.. NW3v and just finished day 3 of 4 for 2000 FIT with Dr. Cole and staff. I have been reading through many forums (Especially this one) for about 14months now, and finally made the decision to address my hairloss with Dr. Cole and IHTI. I am new to posting on this forum but I must say first of all.. I have a much broader respect for Dr. Cole's staff seeing them in action. They are awesome people and know what they are doing. I think I must have harassed Damien for several months with thousands of questions and contact information of prior patients which have been most useful in my decision making.
I had a Strip a few years ago with MHR of about 1200g and wish I could go back in time and switched to FIT, cause to be honest.. I hate the linear scar.. and not terribly pleased with the overall results after 1 year. I realize how young I was to have this procedure done but understand that I was born with very thin hair, and I probably had less hair when I was 20 then I do today, but MHR did not really help with a natural appearance as transparency be came more apparent over time in the recipient area exactly where the previous surgery was done, and not to mention the god aweful scar. The only thing MHR has going for them is thier falsified commercial advertisements IMHO. I cannot cut my hair shorter than a #3 in the donor area. I also have nightmares about concealers and hopefully I can rid myself of them within time and treatment. I am currently taking Avodart.. which seems to be helping a bit as well.
So.. after a few days of FIT in Atlanta and lots of anesthesia, I have gained the utmost appreciation for Dr. Cole and staff for their perfectionism in the love of their work. The techs in the office are excellent and they really take care of you. I really think this is going to be a HUGE help for my situation, and as time progresses along with hair growth I may look to have some scar repair and possibly a little crown work.
Well.. I need some rest now.. the meds are kicking in and looking forward to finishing day 4 in the AM. I will update on my progress, but just wanted to say hello for now. |
